Alison Doody

Alison Doody was born in Dublin in the Republic of Ireland, on the 11th of November in 1966. The model is as well an Irish actress. After making her debut in a feature film by playing a minor role in the Bond film A View to a Kill (1985) she was later cast to portray the Nazi-sympathising archaeologist Elsa Schneider, in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989). Siobhan Doovan portrayed Charlotte in Taffin in 1988 and Rebecca Flannery starred in Major League II in 1994. Doody was a model when her being approached by an aspiring photographer. She has since evolved into commercial modelling. Doody was averse to glamour and nude modeling, which that was carried into her acting. Once she caught the attention of the director of casting for an upcoming James Bond movie, she was cast of A View to a Kill as Jenny Flex. Doody was named as one of the 12 most promising new Actors of 1986 by John Willis Screen World, Vol. 38. Still only 18 as she played the character Doody was and is the youngest Bond girl that has ever appeared. A Prayer for the Dying which starred Mickey Rourke in 1987, was a different early film in which Doody played IRA Siobhan. Doody was Archibald Craven's wife Lilias, in his dream in the television adaptation The Secret Garden. Her first lead role was in the 1988 episode of Jim Henson fantasy series The Storyteller as Sapsorrow alongside John Hurt Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders. She starred alongside Pierce Brosnan, in the 1988 film Taffin. She then took on her most memorable role to date in the film Taffin as Austrian archaeologist and Nazisympathiser Dr. Elsa Schneider playing alongside Harrison Ford. Doody has worked with three James Bond actors. In 1991 Doody played alongside Jonathan Pryce in British mini-series Selling Hitler inspired by the published fraud known as The Hitler Diaries. Doody later moved to Hollywood. She was chosen to succeed Cybill Shepherd as spokeswoman for L'Oreal she was later chosen to perform alongside Charlie Sheen in 1994's Major League II as Flannery his girlfriend and agent. Doody, who had been away from acting for almost 10 years, returned in 2003 for a minor role in The Actors, a British comedy The Actors in which Michael Caine appeared as her as a character at the ceremony for awards. Doody's roles included the TV film version of King Solomon's Mines in 2004, a booklet about the Holocaust, and a short film called Benjamin's Struggle in 2005. In 2010 Doody was a character in Danny Dyer's film The Rapture (2010). She guested in RTE's the medical thriller The Clinic. The project was later shelved. Pam Jefferson was her character in the E4 comedy Beaver Falls for two seasons. The show also featured her in We Still Kill the Old Way (2014). In November of 2018, she was honored by the Almeria tierra de cine award and she received the honor of a star on the Almeria Walk of Fame.
